At our famous Steak Night dinners, you can have dinner for a fair price. The menu is: steak, potato, salad bar, and bread for $13 per plate. Take outs are available, or stay and eat at the Post, and meet your old friends or make new ones. We have a great cooks, so come on down and join us.

Monthly Post and Auxiliary Meetings
The regular Post and Ladies Auxiliary meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the second Wednesday of each month at the Post home. The regular Men's Auxiliary meetings are held at 2:00 PM on the Sunday following the VFW meeting. Come and join us to plan events which serve our veterans, our military and our community.
The Military Order of the Cootie (MOC) holds their monthly Scratch on the third Wednesday of each month at the Post home. The meetings start at 7:00 PM. Come and join us to plan events which help us keep 'em smilin' in beds of white.
Each month, the Post has a Clean-up day. One of our units spends the day cleaning up the Post. Work begins at 8:00 Am on a Saturday, and the exact date varies based on the other events on the calendar that month.
Next District Mtg - April 30, 2011
Each quarter, all Posts in District 7 meet to discuss issues, learn of changes, and share ideas. State officers join us as we learn what is going on at the State level, and to answer questions. The meetings begin with a meal at 12:00 noon, followed by the meeting.
Three tims a year, members from around North Carolina meet. The business of the State is conducted by the State's Council of Administration, and the various programs are explained by our State chairmen. We also have an officer from National Headquarters join us to answer questions and discuss issues.
The Legion Riders are a group of veterans who ride motorcycles. They hold fund raisers for veterans and a variety of military and civil causes. They hold their meeting on the last Friday of each month at the Post at 7:00 PM. Those interested, can come to a meeting and get more information.
Come and join us for a barbecue (pig and chicken). The meal includes your choice of chopped barbecue, and/or barbecued chicken, plus slaw, hush puppies, potatoes and green beans. All you can eat for $8 per plate. Eat at the Post, or take outs available.

Join us as we Install the 2008-09 Post and Auxiliary officers. The ceremony starts at 2:00 PM, followed by a reception. All members, and guests are welcome to attend and share the activities as we kick off a new year.

Come and learn more about our great organization and exchange ideas with our counterparts around the area.

The VFW State Golf Tournament will be held September 14-16, 2007 in Garner, NC. VFW Post 10225 will be the host of the Tournament, which will include a practice round on Friday, and two days of golf, a dinner and dance on Saturday, and prizes. Watch the Leader or stop by the Post for information on prices and reservations.
The fall State Council of Administration meeting will be held at the North Raleigh Hilton, 3415 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, from Oct. 6-8, 2006. At these meetings, you learn about the various programs sponsored by the VFW, plus meet your state officers at hospitality rooms, a banquet and dance.

The Winter State Council of Administration meeting will be held at the Koury Convention Center at the Sheraton Four Season's Hotel, 3121 High Point Road, Greensboro, NC 27407 from February 8-10, 2008. At these meetings, you learn about the various programs sponsored by the VFW, plus meet your state officers at hospitality rooms, a banquet and dance. Also we will honor the state winners of the VOD competition, and hear the top winner's speech.

The MOC and MOCA winter Grand Scratch will be held at the Baymont Inn & Suites in Fayetteville. Call (910) 485-0520 for reservations, and mention MOC. The rate will be $70.00 plus tax per night. There will be lots of fun, including meetings, dinner, dance and lots of hospitality. Meet your Grand officers. All members in good standing are eligible to attend.

MOCA 5th Supreme District Meeting
There will be a 5th Supreme District MOCA meeting on March 7-8, 2008 in Fayetteville, NC. Make reservations at the EconoLodge, 1952 Cedar Creek Rd, Exit 49 off I -95, Fayetteville, Phone: (910) 433-2100 and mention the Cooties to get the special rate.
There will be a hospital visit (Clowns welcome) on Saturday morning, followed by the MOC and MOCA meetings. Saturday evening there will be a dinner followed by a 1950's dance.
Come and join us as we "keep 'em smiling in beds of white" by visiting the patients at the Durham VA Medical Center. We meet at the hospital at 7:00 PM, or ride together from the Post. The cars pull out 6:15 PM. You'll learn that putting a smile on the faces of the patients will give one to you as well.

The Post and Auxiliaries will hold a Candlelight Memorial Service. This service will memorialize the members of our Post and Auxiliaries and families who passed away during the past year. Please join us.
To recognize October as Breast Cancer month, the Ladies Auxiliary will hold an information session on various forms of Cancer on Sunday, October 3 at 2:00 PM. Ladies and gentlemen are encouraged to attend to learn about the many types of cancer that affect our families and friends. A $1 optional donation is requested of those who attend.
Come and join us as we visit with and entertain the patients at the Durham VA Medical Center. We meet at the hospital at 6:45 PM, or ride together from the Post. The cars pull out 6:00 PM. You'll learn that putting a smile on the faces of the patients will give one to you as well.
Come and help us celebrate bringing in the New Year with a Party at the Post. The Post will have a New Year’s party on Dec. 31, starting at 8:00 PM. There will be food, music (from Big Boppin' John), and the regular noise makers and party hats. Welcome the new year with your friends. Cost is $5 per person, and please brings a snack to share.
As usual, we ask all to drink responsibly, and if possible, use a designated driver. But rides home will be available for those who need them. We want you safe and here for 2007.
New Year’s Day there will be a Pot Luck Lunch from 1:00 PM. The Post will provide black-eyed peas. Please bring a dish and enjoy each other's company.
The Post holds their regular monthly Fish Fry dinner on the 3rd Friday of each month. Come and join us for great fish, fries, slaw and hush puppies. Dinner will be served from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Eat in or take out.
Do you have family locally to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with? Many of our members don't. They have relocated here from other parts of the country, or their families have moved or passed away, and they are now alone. There are also family members of deployed troops who don't want to be alone on the holiday.
To help, the VFW will be holding our annual free Thanksgiving dinner at the Post home on Thanksgiving Day from 1:00 to 6:00 PM for all those who would like to come spend the day with their local "family". After all, friends are family that you get to choose. Delivery to shut-ins is also available. Sign up ahead, so we can have enough turkey for all. And then bring a side dish to share. Volunteers are needed to help cook and clean.
Join us at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 9 for a Christmas party for children aged 12 and under. This party is opened to children and grandchildren of our Post and Auxiliary members, and to children of deployed troops or from our adopted Military units.
There will be fun, activities, food and gifts for all children in attendance.

The American Legion Riders meet on the last Friday of each month at our VFW Post. Meeting starts at 7:00 PM.
