At our famous Steak Night dinners, you can have dinner for a fair price. The menu is: steak, potato, salad bar, and bread for $13 per plate. Take outs are available, or stay and eat at the Post, and meet your old friends or make new ones. We have a great cooks, so come on down and join us.

We're getting together at the Post to make various Pot Holder crafts for the campaign of Helen Carter, who is running for National office in the Ladies Auxiliary. Come, and if possible, bring sewing supplies, sewing machines, trim, buttons, etc. to decorate the various products that we make. You can even bring new pot holders to turn into our finished products.
Monthly Post and Auxiliary Meetings
The regular Post, Ladies Auxiliary and Men's Auxiliary meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Post home at 7:00 PM. Come and join us to plan events which serve our veterans, our military and our community.
The Military Order of the Cootie (MOC) holds their monthly Scratch on the third Wednesday of each month at the Post home. The MOC starts at 6:30 PM and the MOCA starts at 7:30 PM. Come and join us to plan events which help us keep 'em smilin' in beds of white.
Come and join us for the next Gourmet Dinner, cooked and served by our Men's Auxiliary. Reservations and payment ($17 per person) must be received up front, so we know just how much food to prepare.

Join us as we Install the 2008-09 Post and Auxiliary officers. The ceremony starts at 2:00 PM, followed by a reception. All members, and guests are welcome to attend and share the activities as we kick off a new year.
VFW Post in Raleigh (10999) will be hosting the next District 7 meeting at Gwendolyn's.
Members from the Posts and Auxiliaries around the District (which includes Posts and Auxiliaries in Wake, Johnston, Harnett, and Chatham Counties) will be present, as well as our state representatives. Come and learn more about our great organization and exchange ideas with our counterparts around the area.

Members from the Posts and Auxiliaries around the District (which includes Posts and Auxiliaries in Wake, Johnston, Harnett, and Chatham Counties) will be present, as well as our state representatives. At this meeting, we will be electing our District officers to represent us at the State level for the next year.

The VFW State Golf Tournament will be held September 14-16, 2007 in Garner, NC. VFW Post 10225 will be the host of the Tournament, which will include a practice round on Friday, and two days of golf, a dinner and dance on Saturday, and prizes. We hold a Birthday Party each month to help our members celebrate their special day with their VFW "family". There is recorded music, food and fun.

The fall State Council of Administration meeting will be held at the North Raleigh Hilton, 3415 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, from Oct. 6-8, 2006. At these meetings, you learn about the various programs sponsored by the VFW, plus meet your state officers at hospitality rooms, a banquet and dance.

The Winter State Council of Administration meeting will be held at the Koury Convention Center at the Sheraton Four Season's Hotel, 3121 High Point Road, Greensboro, NC 27407 from February 8-10, 2008. At these meetings, you learn about the various programs sponsored by the VFW, plus meet your state officers at hospitality rooms, a banquet and dance. Also we will honor the state winners of the VOD competition, and hear the top winner's speech.

Join us as we join "Wreaths Across America" on Saturday, December 15 at Noon at the Raleigh National Cemetery for the laying of wreaths. The Post is participating in this nation-wide activity, which is meant to honor fallen heroes at over 200 state and national veterans' cemeteries across the Country and on foreign soil, as well as aboard U.S. ships sailing in all seven seas.
The 2008 MOC and MOCA annual Grand Convention will be held in Spring Lake, NC from May 30-31, 2008. There will be lots of fun, including presentation of annual awards, elections of new Grand officers, meetings, dinner, dance and lots of hospitality. The election and installation of our new Grand Officers will be held at this meeting. All members in good standing are eligible and encouraged to attend.

MOCA 5th Supreme District Meeting
There will be a 5th Supreme District MOCA meeting on March 7-8, 2008 in Fayetteville, NC. Make reservations at the EconoLodge, 1952 Cedar Creek Rd, Exit 49 off I -95, Fayetteville, Phone: (910) 433-2100 and mention the Cooties to get the special rate.
There will be a hospital visit (Clowns welcome) on Saturday morning, followed by the MOC and MOCA meetings. Saturday evening there will be a dinner followed by a 1950's dance.
Come and join us as we "keep 'em smiling in beds of white" by visiting the patients at the Durham VA Medical Center. We meet at the hospital at 7:00 PM, or ride together from the Post. The cars pull out 6:15 PM. You'll learn that putting a smile on the faces of the patients will give one to you as well.

The Post and Auxiliaries will hold a Candlelight Memorial Service. This service will memorialize the members of our Post and Auxiliaries and families who passed away during the past year. Please join us.
To recognize October as Breast Cancer month, the Ladies Auxiliary will hold an information session on various forms of Cancer on Sunday, October 3 at 2:00 PM. Ladies and gentlemen are encouraged to attend to learn about the many types of cancer that affect our families and friends. A $1 optional donation is requested of those who attend.

Come and help us celebrate bringing in the New Year with a Party at the Post. The Post will have a New Year’s party on Dec. 31, starting at 8:00 PM. There will be food, music (from Big Boppin' John), and the regular noise makers and party hats. Welcome the new year with your friends. Cost is $5 per person, and please brings a snack to share.
As usual, we ask all to drink responsibly, and if possible, use a designated driver. But rides home will be available for those who need them. We want you safe and here for 2007.
New Year’s Day there will be a Pot Luck Lunch from 1:00 PM. The Post will provide black-eyed peas. Please bring a dish and enjoy each other's company.
The Ladies Auxiliary is sponsoring a Fish Fry dinner to raise funds. Come and join us for great fish, fries, slaw and hush puppies. Dinner will be served from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Eat in or take out.
Do you have family locally to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with? Many of our members don't. They have relocated here from other parts of the country, or their families have moved or passed away, and they are now alone. There are also family members of deployed troops who don't want to be alone on the holiday.
To help, the VFW will be holding our annual free Thanksgiving dinner at the Post home on Thanksgiving Day from 1:00 to 6:00 PM for all those who would like to come spend the day with their local "family". After all, friends are family that you get to choose. Delivery to shut-ins is also available. Sign up ahead, so we can have enough turkey for all. And then bring a side dish to share. Volunteers are needed to help cook and clean.
Join us at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 9 for a Christmas party for children aged 12 and under. This party is opened to children and grandchildren of our Post and Auxiliary members, and to children of deployed troops or from our adopted Military units.
There will be fun, activities, food and gifts for all children in attendance.
American Legion Riders Meeting
The American Legion Riders meet on the last Friday of each month at our VFW Post. Meeting starts at 7:00 PM.
