Come join us each month for dinner. The menu varies depending on what is avaiable for a good price. Take outs are available, // or stay and eat at the Post, and meet your old friends or make new ones. We have a great cooks, so come on down and join us.

POW/MIA Ceremony

The first Saturday of each month at Noon there is a ceremony at the Vietnam Memorial at the State Capitol to read the names of those North Carolinians still amoung the missing from the Vietnam War. This moving ceremony only takes about a half hour. Come join us each month.

For the following meals at both of Cleveland Draft House's locations (Rts 40/42 in Garner, and 461 Shotwell Road in Clayton), a rebate will be given to the Post for the Building Fund as follows:

Monthly Post and Auxiliary Meetings

The regular Post and Auxiliary meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the second Wednesday of each month at the Post home. Come and join us to plan events which serve our veterans, our military and our community.

Post Cleanup Day

Each month, the Post has a Clean-up day. All of our units spends the day cleaning up the Post. Work begins at 8:00 Am on a Saturday, and the exact date varies based on the other events on the calendar that month. Check the calendar page for the current dates.

Next State Mtg

Three tims a year, members from around North Carolina meet at the Embassy Suites hotel in Greensboro. The business of the State is conducted by the State's Council of Administration, and the various programs are explained by our State chairmen. We also have an officer from National Headquarters join us to answer questions and discuss issues.

Legion Riders Meetings

The Legion Riders are a group of veterans who ride motorcycles. They hold fund raisers for veterans and a variety of military and civil causes. They hold their meeting on the last Friday of each month at the Post at 7:00 PM. Those interested, can come to a meeting and get more information.

Barbecue

Come and join us for a barbecue (pig and chicken). The meal includes your choice of chopped barbecue, and/or barbecued chicken, plus slaw, hush puppies, potatoes and green beans. All you can eat for $8 per plate. Eat at the Post, or take outs available.

WARRIOR JAM 2012 with Operation Outreach

Our Post is participating in this Warrior Jam 2012 to benefit Patriot Outreach Organization and Armed Forces Family Readiness Programs. There will be Bands throughout the day. Featured performers are up and coming Veteran Country Music Artists with special guests. This all day event will deliver a variety of exciting entertainment along with vital resources and awareness to Military, Veterans, families and our community alike. Come and join us as we work at the events from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM passing flags and litereature.

Events will include a day full of activities including food, giveaways, raffle prizes, 50/50 drawings, and more. In the parking lot of the Crown Arena from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Warrior Jam 2012 Concert will be held in the Crown Arena from 6:00 pm to 12:00 am. Tickets $25.00 to 35.00 (plus fees).

Installation of Officers

Join us as we Install the new Post and Auxiliary officers. The ceremony starts at 2:00 PM, followed by a reception. All members, and guests are welcome to attend and share the activities as we kick off a new year.

District 7 Mtg

Three times a year, all Posts and Auxiliaries in District 7 (which includes Posts and Auxiliaries in Wake, Johnston, Harnett, and Chatham Counties) meet to discuss issues, learn of changes, and share ideas. State officers join us as we learn what is going on at the State level, and to answer questions. The meetings begin at 10:00 AM with a joint meeting, and then separate into separated meetings for the Post and Auxiliary members.

District Convention

VFW Post 6722 in Lillington will be hosting the 2020 District 7 Convention. Members from the Posts and Auxiliaries around the District will be present to celebrate our acomplishments of the year, as well as to elect our District officers to represent us at the State level for the next year.

Meeting begins at 10:00 AM with a joint meeting, and then the VFW and Auxiliary separate for their respective business meetings.

VFW State Golf Tournament

The VFW State Golf Tournament will be held September 11-13, 2020 in Spring Lake, NC. VFW Post 9103 will be the host of the Tournament, which will include a practice round on Friday, and two days of golf, a dinner and dance on Saturday, and prizes. Watch the Leader or stop by the Post for information on prices and reservations.

VFW State Meeting

The fall State Council of Administration meeting will be held at the Embassy Squites, 204 Centreport Drive, Greensboro, from Oct. 2-4, 2015. At these meetings, you learn about the various programs sponsored by the VFW, plus meet your state officers at hospitality rooms, a banquet and dance.

All members in good standing are eligible to attend. For hotel reservations, call 336-668-4535 and mention the VFW when you call.

VFW Council of Administration Meeting

The Winter State Council of Administration meeting will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 204 Centreport Drive, Greensboro,, NC 27513. At these meetings, you learn about the various programs sponsored by the VFW, plus meet your state officers at hospitality rooms, a banquet and dance. Also we will honor the state winners of the VOD competition, and hear the top winner's speech.

VFW Department Convention

The 2022 VFW and VFW Auxiliary annual Department Convention will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 204 Centreport Dr., Greensboro, NC. There will be lots of fun, including presentation of annual awards, elections of new State officers, meetings, dinner, dance and lots of hospitality. Meet your State officers. All members in good standing are eligible to attend.

VAMC visit

The Post and Auxiliary, in conjunction with the Garner American Legion, visit the patients at the Durham VA Medical Center on the 4th Wednesday of each odd-numbered month (Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept, and Nov) at 1:30 PM. We play Bingo and bring snacks to the patients at the hospital's Community Living Center there. Come and join us as we bring cheer to those to defended our country.

VAMC outing

The Post and Auxiliary, in conjunction with the Garner American Legion, will bring the patients from the Durham VA's Community Living Center to Garner. There wil be a picnic at Lake Benson park at noon. Please come and viit with the patients and staff of the VA.

Nursing Home visit

The Post and Auxiliary, in conjunction with the Garner American Legion, visit the veterans at Garner area Nursing Homes on a Saturday during each even-numbered month (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, and Dec) at 10:00 AM. We visit the veteran, and bring them a cold drink and a treat. Come and join us as we bring cheer to those to defended our country. Homes visited are: Laurels of Forest Glen, Lawndale Manor, Carillon Assisted Living, and BellaRose Nursing and Rehab Center.

Cancer Awareness Program

To recognize October as Breast Cancer month, the Ladies Auxiliary will hold an information session on various forms of Cancer on Sunday, October 3 at 2:00 PM. Ladies and gentlemen are encouraged to attend to learn about the many types of cancer that affect our families and friends. A $1 optional donation is requested of those who attend.

VFW VA Hospital Visit

Come and join us as we visit with and entertain the patients at the Durham VA Medical Center. We meet at the hospital at 6:45 PM, or ride together from the Post. The cars pull out 6:00 PM. You'll learn that putting a smile on the faces of the patients will give one to you as well.

The Triangle Blue Star Moms meet at our Post on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. If you are not a member, come and check them out and see if you are elegible to join.

Fish Fry Dinner

The Post holds occational Fish Fry dinners. Come and join us for great fish, fries, slaw and hush puppies. Dinner will be served from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Eat in or take out.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Do you have family locally to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with? Many of our members don't. They have relocated here from other parts of the country, or their families have moved or passed away, and they are now alone. There are also family members of deployed troops who don't want to be alone on the holiday.

To help, the VFW will be holding our annual free Thanksgiving dinner at the Post home on Thanksgiving Day. We open at Noon, with the meal served from 1:00 to 6:00 PM for all those who would like to come spend the day with their local "family". After all, friends are family that you get to choose. Delivery to shut-ins is also available. Sign up ahead, so we can have enough turkey for all. And then bring a side dish to share. Volunteers are needed to help cook and clean.

Children's Christmas Party

Join us at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 9 for a Christmas party for children aged 12 and under. This party is opened to children and grandchildren of our Post and Auxiliary members, and to children of deployed troops or from our adopted Military units.

There will be fun, activities, food and gifts for all children in attendance.
